Ashleash and Zobie

Can you believe that I was lucky enough to reconnect with an old friend from Jr High?  A friendship that fizzled over the past 17 years has come back to life!  This time around, we have some new additions...I have Brayden (now 2) and Ashley has Zoie (16 months).  But Brayden prefers to call them Ashleash and Zobie (thus the title in case you were wondering).  Today we got together for the 3rd time this year (thank you Ashley for leaving that horrible place we call Hawaii and coming back to California) and let our kids run wild in the fountains at Irvine Spectrum.

Zoie is not quite sure what to make of Brayden

Brayden sharing water with Zoie - What a gentleman!

Yay, they finally played together!

She is just such a cutie!

Despite the 2 hours of running, Brayden refused to nap.  I spent 2 hours attempting to get Brayden down for a nap.  We started with an hour of the Super Nanny style bedtime routine followed by an hour of "mommy laying on the floor next to his crib with her back to him."  Neither style worked.  Two hours passed, both of us exhausted and yet no nap!

So, seeing as how it was 95 degrees out, we headed over to Ms Erin's pool and did some more swimming lessons (she luckily got dismissed from Jury Duty and had the day off).  Of course, Brayden did wonderful and impressed me even more than the last time.  This time after the lesson was over, I joined my two fish friends in the pool and we did another whole hour of swimming!  What a difference a month makes!

And to top off our busy yet fun day (well except for the NO nap part), we spent the evening with our friends the Comerford's chowing on some Golden Spoon.  Unfortunately no pics were taken of Brayden and Parker muching on their cake batter with sprinkles but it was messy...Trust me.  Phew, now it's time for rest (the one and only good thing about NO nap is an easy bedtime for the most part)!
